From 1964 through 1968, Robert Laessig of the American Greeting Card Company created a series of watercolor paintings for use on the Johnson White House Christmas cards and gift prints. The scenes usually featured exterior views of the White House at different seasons of the year. The formal gift prints were mounted in a presentation folder with a message from the President and Mrs. Johnson and embossed the the Presidential seal. Due to the size of the embossed folder (15"x20") they are sometimes called "oversized Christmas cards." Most years the same scene also appeared on the standard-sized Christmas cards.
All proceeds from The Store at LBJ sales benefit programming, exhibits, and educational initiatives at the LBJ Presidential Library.
